Don’t worry about paying moving fees or searching for expensive furniture  — our pet-friendly two-bedroom apartments, three-bedroom apartments, and four-bedroom apartments by U of I come completely furnished with couches, tables, and a flat-screen TV in the living room, dining tables near the kitchen, and a mattress set, nightstand, desk, and organizer in the bedrooms. Other lavish features include spacious private bedrooms and en suite bathrooms, ample storage space and walk-in closets, a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and hardwood-style flooring throughout the apartment. High-speed internet and cable services are also included.

How Do International Students Apply?

A Straightforward Leasing Process

International students can apply for housing at The Cottages at Illinois even if they do not have a Social Security number.

Students without an SSN must provide a copy of their I-20 as part of the application process. After completing the application, international students have several options for meeting the community’s qualification requirements.

You can:

• Qualify with a qualified guarantor
• Apply for the guarantor waiver program
• Self-qualify by paying a deposit equal to two times the rent

These options give international students more than one path toward completing the leasing process based on their individual circumstances.
